View 2: Led by Professor Art Gold and CRMC's Caitlin Chaffee, fellows are introduced to a standard method for evaluating stream health called Rapid Bioassessment. This method relies on the mix of macroinvertebrates - aquatic invertebrates whose key position on the food chain makes them important indicators of water quality - found in shallow waters. Fellows collect and identify stream macroinvertebrates and use that information to classify the health of a particular stream reach.
