On the first day of the Metcalf workshop, University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography (URI GSO) graduate student Leslie Smith prepares a Niskin bottle for water collection and quality assessment in Greenwich Bay, a semi-enclosed inlet off Narragansett Bay. Smith is studying the effects of global climate change on Narragansett Bay waters, using data gathered from a network of buoys.
