Metcalf Institute Seeks Earth Science Graduate Students
to Participate in NSF RAPID-funded Grant
Metcalf Institute seeks Earth science graduate students with a strong interest in science communication to participate in an NSF RAPID-funded grant, "Improving Communication of Oil Spill Research."
Two applicants will be selected to attend the Society of Environmental Journalists' annual conference from October 13-17, 2010, in Missoula, Montana. Student participants will contribute postings about conference proceedings to the conference blog and social media networks. In return, the students will receive roundtrip travel to Missoula, lodging, per diem, conference registration, and an honorarium.
Applications must include a one-page letter of interest, CV, and letter of support from the student's Major Professor indicating why the student is suitable for this effort. All application materials must be received by September 3, 2010, addressed to Sunshine Menezes and sent as a single PDF to info@metcalfinstitute.org with subject line "SEJ Conference Application."
