Ahearn Wins Journalism Fellowships
Metcalf alumna Ashley Ahearn, former Living on Earth producer and reporter, has been selected for an Annenberg Fellowship at the Annenberg School of Communication, University of Southern California. She will start a masters program in science journalism this fall and plans to explore environmental impacts on human fertility, including endocrine disruptors, pesticide exposure and other chemicals that impact pregnancy and birth.
Ahearn is currently in Vienna on a Milena Jesenská Fellowship, awarded through a partnership between Boston University and the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. She is reporting on the transitions in some Eastern European countries from communism to capitalism and what that means for development and land stewardship.
